This research was supported in part by a grant awarded to Latham by the Gay Academic Union, and the National Council on Alcoholism Minority Programs Committee assisted in the data collection. The study sought to assess whether an alcoholic's sexual orientation would affect their experience in an alcoholic treatment program.
